Cultural exchanges lie at the heart of thousands of cultures, and convergence and integration are the ultimate goals of long journeys. To demonstrate cultural confidence in "appreciating the beauty of one's own culture", inclusiveness of "appreciating the beauty of others", and openness and inclusivity of "appreciating all kinds of beauty", our college held the "Fifth International Cultural Festival and Seventh Magnolia Cultural Festival of Henan Agricultural University" with the theme of "Merging the Emotions of Henan Agricultural University with the Diversified Charms of the Five Continents" on Hongnong Avenue, Longzihu Campus on April 23. You Ge, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Henan Agricultural University, and Guo Zhanwei, Vice President of the university, attended the event. Relevant department heads of the school and all teachers and students of our college also participated.
With the theme of "Merging the Emotions of the Agricultural University with the Diversified Charms of the Five Continents", Vice President Guo Zhanwei stated in his speech that cultural confidence has always been the most fundamental, deepest, and longest-lasting force in the development of a country and nation. He hoped that students would inherit, develop, and disseminate Chinese excellent traditional culture, build cultural confidence from the roots, inherit culture from the heart, and innovate culture through actions, contributing youthful strength to building a world-class agricultural university with Chinese characteristics. Chinese and foreign teachers and students presented a splendid song and dance performance. The integration of international faces and Hanfu culture, as well as the blend of tradition and modernity, not only provided a visual feast but also facilitated a cultural dialogue across borders. Dozens of booths featured various foods such as Russian sausages and wormwood green dumplings, as well as craft exhibits like painted round fans and Chinese-style opera masks. Additionally, there were specialty activities like hand-painted kites and book ring toss, allowing students to appreciate the unique stories and customs of each country, showcasing the profoundness of Chinese culture, and adding a strong exotic flavor and vitality to the campus.
